Following on the free access we obtained to Bayreuth’s Flying Dutchman this week, paid subscribers to this site will be able to watch tomorrow – completely free – a Bayreuth Rheingold.

Followed by Lohengrin on Saturday and Tannhäuser Sunday.

All thanks to our partnership with DG Stage.

And all completely free of charge.

Oh please. Free streaming tickets to these operas have been and are available through DG stage without any need to be a “paid subscriber” to anything. Same is true for the rest of the Ring and for Tristan later in August.

  • Gustavo says:

    Great hack!

  • Una says:

Just a shame Rhinegold clashes with the First Night of the Proms. Thanks though for this perk for those of us who have paid up to support the site.

  • FP says:

Thank you for the info. Looking forward to Meistersinger.

  • PianistW says:

Once you have to pay for being subscribed to SD, any service that is offered by SD that requires in order to have access to it the payment of the mentioned subscription, cannot be considered “free” or “free shipping of charge”.

  • Indeed says:

You mean the 2018 Bug-Zapper Lohengrin?
