Merkel sends flowers to Bayreuth conductor

According to DW Culture: German Chancellor Angela Merkel voiced her pleasure at the fact that a woman stood behind the conductor’s podium at the prestigious Bayreuther Festspiele – Bayreuth Festival for the first time in 145 years.
