Bavarian State Opera is putting on an all-star concert to say goodbye to its successful manager, Nikolaus Bachler, who is heading to Salzburg.

Four conductors have signed up – Ivor Bolton, Asher Fisch, Kent Nagano and Kirill Petrenko.

The singers are drawn from those whose careers have been shaped by the Bachler era. They include Kaufmann, Gerhaher, Damrau, Netrebko, Garanca, Terfel and Stemme.

For clarity’s sake, Bachler is heading to the week-long Osterfestspiele Salzburg (Easter Festival), NOT the six-week summer Salzburger Festspiele, with which it is not affiliated.

The two most overrated opera singers in the history of opera… neither of them has a true understanding of what a top class singing artist really means, but the (new) audiences today are fooled into this masquerade.
And then there is Damrau too – such a parody nowadays!
