The Scots composer Colin Tully has died after a rapid cancer.

He had a brief limelight period, writing the soundtrack for the coming-of-age movie Gregory’s Girl and accompanying Johnny Logan in an Eurovision award-winning song.

But he retained as a teacher of the contemplative Alexander Technique with the principal flute of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Paul Kingsley, and in the 1990s retired from the musical frontline to become a fulltime Alexander practitioner.
