The hallowed curtain time of Italian opera houses is being brought forward this Sunday to allow audiences to rush home for the England vs Italy final of the football Euro 2020.

The match kicks off at 2100 Italy time.

We hear that Teatro Regio di Parma has brought forward Donizetti’s Don Pasquale to 2000 (and might lose half the audience in the interval). Other companies are still making adjustments.

Folks ought to grow out of football, Wimbledon and all that stuff when they leave adolescence. The most boring of all is when people talk about cricket. ZZZzzzz

How can you tell if someone is cultured?
        Here are some possible meanings:

To be cultured means to be educated.
Knowing about a variety of subjects.
        Being refined and sophisticated.
        Being curious, unprejudiced, and open-minded.
Being tolerant and respectful of people who are different from us.
Living a life of excellence and discernment.

England’s qualification resulted of an own goal and one penalty kick from a fake punishment. Forza Italia!

Sad because it shows where the support of the audience is. I predict England to win it not because it is the better side but because of political reasons. If one thinks classical contests can be rigged, sports contests are the worst.
