Those of you fluent in French will recognise the title of this joyous cabaret show as the opening exhortation of the Marseillaise, the French national anthem. Two of New York’s top cabaret artists – Steve Ross and Jean Brassard – get together to celebrate Bastille Day in what they call (again, for those of you fluent in French) ‘Une Grande Fete Musicale’ at the Pangea Restaurant and Bar in Manhattan. Their live shows are sold out and extra shows already added, but you can catch their show online. .
Among their special guests will be Karen Akers, whom I happen to know is fluent in French, and Stephanie Biddle who, being, like Jean Brassard, French Canadian, is definitely fluent in French.
