  • Brettermeier says:

    “Nietszche”

While this is how you spelled it, it’s not how you spell it. 🙂

  • Rogerio says:

    This dialogue is from Apocalypse Now;

    KILGORE
“We’ll come in low, out of the rising sun, and about a mile out,
    we’ll put on the music… ”

    LANCE
    “Music ?”

    KILGORE
” Yeah, I use Wagner — scares the hell
out of the [bad word censored by ROGERIO to protect the WOKE – you’re welcome]. My boys love it !”

    • Rogerio says:

      Yes, I censor art.
What are you going to do about it?

      • Franz1975 says:

I don’t know what he is going to do, but I will say something: your arrogance in thinking your feelings are more important than what is said the the film disgust me, and is a sign of the decadence of our time, and how, in seeking political correctness etc. we are everyday more restricted in what we can think and say, every day less and less free.

        • John Borstlap says:

All freedoms are restricted by the freedom of others. It is not true that always everything should be free to say in public space.

Also: the concept of ‘freedom’ only obtains meaning in combination with context: freedom for whom, from what, for what, about what, when, where, how, etc. etc.

        • Rogerio says:

          Who is “he”?
          Do you mean “Q”?
If you do, then stand back and stay alert. “T” will be back in the White House in 5 days.
          “I love you”.

  • John Borstlap says:

These comics are brilliant and idiotic commentaries on philosophy, putting more-or-less real texts into a different context where they suddenly become absurd.

Both Nietzsche and Wagner have been gravely misunderstood partly due to their own confused formulations, and particularly Wagner because of his stupid connection of industrialisation and capitalism with a supposedly ‘Judaic’ world view:

  • Helen Wynn says:

    Stupid Cartoon.

  • AngloGerman says:

Inane misunderstanding of the philosophies and world-views of both – perhaps unsurprising it is therefore endorsed on this site…

  • Byrwec Ellison says:

How do you like that? Philosophers and their philosophies in graphic panels! Thanks for the tip — it’s fun and sometimes hilarious…

  • Barry Guerrero says:

Incredibly over-simplistic. It does neither man any justice.
