Friendly maestro helps Met musicians raise fundsmain
Musicians of the Metropolitan Opera will join the Dallas Symphony for performances of Mahler’s first symphony on April 30 and May 1.
The concerts are intended as a fund-raiser for the Met musicians who have not been paid for a Covid-long year, possibly the most discreditable act in the Met’s history.
The idea of a benefit concert comes from the Met’s former principal guest conductor, Fabio Luisi, who is now chief in Dallas.
Between 40 and 50 Met musicians will take part.
It’s a tremendous act of friendship and leadership by Fabio.
So where’s Yannick? Well you might ask.
