The Finnish conductor Pietari Inkinen, who is booked to conduct the next Ring at Bayreuth this summer, has shifted his worldwide management to Munich.

He will be agented by Lothar Schacke at KünstlerSekretariat am Gasteig.

Inkinen, former chief in New Zealand, is rincipal Conductor of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie and the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.

He’s an outlier in the pack of Finnish batons.

This isn’t news at all. Inkinen has been with Lothar Schacke for well over a decade already for German speaking territories. The only difference is the expansion to “world”.

Shouldn’t “Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern” be added to “Deutsche Radio Philharmonie”?

  • Anonymous Bosch says:

Uh, as reported here some weeks ago: No “Ring” at Bayreuth this summer; he will lead three concert performances of “Die Walküre”. If they open, that is.

The next “Ring” will probably be in 2023 … provided the Festspiele is back in business by then.

  • Zandonai says:

he’s too young to conduct the Ring Cycle.
