Composer loses new opera in fire at home

The Belgian composer  Philippe Boesmans, 84, is said to be distraught after a fire at his Brussels apartment destroyed many of his possessions, including an opera he was in the process of writing.

It had been commissioned by La Monnaie, where he is resident composer.

    Nope, one only needs to read this article published four days ago – the opera was already safeguarded by his editor, and the opera was commissioned by *both* La Monnaie and the Lyon National Opera.
