The Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden has been shrunk to four days in May.

Tchaikovsky’s Mazeppa will be given in concert with Olga Peretyatko and Vladislav Sulimsky, and the ⁦Berlin Phil⁩ will give two concerts.

things start to open up… that said, no one is traveling now. the UK has been great at the vaccine distribution… germany has been pathetic… and it will tarnish merkel’s legacy if her government does not get going, and fast

Don’t blame Chancellor Merkel: all of the member nations agreed to let the EU broker the deal for vaccinations, and they waited till after the US and UK placed their orders. So now our orders have been drastically slashed and well-made distribution plans rendered useless because there is no vaccination to distribute. Austria, Denmark, and Israel have entered into a deal to try and create domestic production. Other EU countries are striking deals with Russia and China.

It is indeed pathetic, but the blame lies with the EU leadership and not its individual members.
