New York tango maestro is killed by Covid

The Uruguayan bandoneon virtuoso Raul Jaurena, who earned much of his fame in the US, has died in New Jersey at 79.

Raul worked extensively with Astor Piazzola, performed in the White House and won a Latin Grammy.

    By the way, it is one hundred years since the great Astor P. was born. There should be celebrations of his wonderful work world-wide.

    This is a nice clip that pays homage to the bandoneon, and to Mr. Raul Jaurena; the great if unusual instrument has a sadder sound than an accordian.
