Just in: Due to the continuing uncertainty of the coronavirus situation, Lucerne Festival, in consultation with Sir András Schiff, has decided to cancel the Spring Festival, which had been scheduled for 26-28 March.

“We had very much hoped for a fresh start at the end of March,” said Director Michael Haefliger. “But thanks to the progress of vaccinations, we can now finally see light at the end of the tunnel in the coming months. I am delighted that we have been able to secure Sir András Schiff, who has enjoyed a close association with Lucerne Festival for many years, for two new concert dates in May.”

Watch his last Bach recital in Wigmore Hall.
    An extra ordinary performance.Simply fantastic.

Sad for Sir András and for Lucerne, but happy that two further concert dates are assured. For the past hour I have been listening to Sir András play Smetana, and this is utter beauty.
