This is the venerable Philip Springer, composer of Santa Baby and other hits, keeping his fingers supple at home with Ludwig Van B.

He will be 95 in May.

    Sensitively payed and voiced, the agogics lightly stressing the harmonic shifts, this recalls the recent posts about Maria Yudina and her Lunar Sonata” that has obsessed musicians from Schumann to Shostakovich down to this day. Remarkable for 94 or any fraction. It might have transcribed well for harp, cf. Osian Ellis.
