Actually, Feldman is probably the best sonic artist, since his patterns are aesthetically so well-conceived and often very beautiful. But that does not work so well on the piano because of lack of colouristic variety.
Feldman’s ‘Coptic Light’ is a masterpiece of sound art, because of the colours:
