The greatest challenge in the competition is understanding what the Danes are talking.

cleanliness ahead of musicianship can make for dull, unmemorable, non-entity podium peacocks

Desperate? since when participating in competition is an act of desperance MR. Lebrecht?

  • ANowEvenMoreBrokeConductor says:

Over €30000 in application fees alone…

Hilarious headline as always, Mr. Lebrecht. As one of these “desperate” conductors, it might be nice to see a little more support and appreciation from cynical boomers such as yourself and many readers of this cesspool of a website. If you want this special art form survive, you should be happy to see 600+ musicians still hoping to make a positive impact for the future, no matter how bleak it may look.

no need to surf the site if its a cesspool, I appreciate Mr Lebrecht’s dry with and sharing interesting current affairs in the music world

  • fflambeau says:

This would seem to show strength in classical music which is own seen on its deathbed.
