She had her earliest conducting experiences with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO). Have noticed on this site that you report on the NZSO sometimes, but never the APO, in New Zealand.
The APO is doing lots of great stuff these days – please give it some attention!
Unlike Australia with Charles Mackerras etc, NZ has yet to produce an internationally-known classical conductor with an extensive and acclaimed discography. So here’s hoping. Is there any video of this competition available on the internet?
