Germany loses Wagner’s Ring to Covid

An Easter Ring cycle planned for Chemnitz in April-May 2021 has been abandoned due to Covid.

The coming year is looking increasingly bleak.

Hardly a world shattering event to end the world. One Brunhilde bonfire scene is much like another. Besides NI has miles better bonfires on the 11 July!

Cov-19 will still be about for years to come. I came across this paper by Tillet et al in Lancet Infectious Diseases reporting on the case of a repeat cov-19 infection in US.

From their data it looks like the disease symptoms are more severe second time round for the mutation strains in US compared to those we have in dear auld Blighty.

We already know antibody titres fall off weeks after Sars-cov-2 infection, so this indicates a vaccine may not be very effective long term.

The latest wheeze in cov-19 research, seems to be a trial of BCG boosters, to see if that might impede infection. At present there is no evidence supporting it.

Correction: Cancelled not due to a Covid, but to Covid-inspired panic, fear-mongering, and paranoia.

So these people are assuming the madness must continue well into the middle of next year? Insane to cancel an event set for next April, when we have already been well past peak virus now for months, and should be well into the return to normal life. Utter madness.

Covid will keep us from returning to normality until at least 70% of the population gets either immune or vaccinated. We are at most 10% right now. Good luck with living your normal life next April.
