Covent Garden eyes wage cuts

We heard the musicians at the Royal Opera House were about to agree a second pay cut.

Here’s the official response from the ROH:

At the beginning of this crisis, Music Director Antonio Pappano agreed to waive all of his fees and salary, Chief Executive Alex Beard took a 25% pay cut and  all staff whether furloughed or continuing work took a 20% reduction in pay, other than those earning £30k or less whose salary was fully protected, and those earning between £30 and £37,500 who had smaller reductions. Negotiations are in progress about future pay arrangements.
