The French-Lebanese trumpeter and composer Ibrahm Maalouf has been cleared on appeal of sexual offences against a minor. He was sentenced in 2018 to four months’ jail and a 20,000 euro for kissing a 14 year-old intern in 2013.

Maalouf denied any criminal act. The girl’s family said the incident had caused her to suffer an eating disorder.

Someone should never be convicted based solely on ‘he said she said’.

  • Michael says:

As inadvisable as it is, how is kissing considered a sexual offense? A kiss on the lips or on the forehead or what? I can see why he was cleared. Unfortunately, he will never be fully cleared in the court of public opinion, especially when every report of even being cleared will show up in google search results, including Slippedisc.com.

Some people thrive on victimhood. Fills a big void in their lives.

From a kiss? How ridiculous. What’s happened to France?

  • Clarrieu says:

All this fuss for quasi nothing, when the main problem is this guy being a musical and jazzistic fraud.

More men are going to have to follow the Pence rule – never be alone with a women unless she’s your wife. And especially stay way from underage girls.
