Sony Classical has signed the Spanish cellist Pablo Ferrández, 29.

Naive has woken from a long slumber to add the French cellist Christian-Pierre La Marca, 37.

  • Michael in Missouri says:

Having heard Ferrández in recital two years ago, I can report that he deserves this opportunity. An impressive musician!

  • Ramesh Nair says:

What happened to the Naive label; presumably severe financial strife? They have still been releasing issues at a sluggish pace [ actually not that far off the speed of Warner-ex-EMI if one omits the latter’s lowbrow/unibrow/crossover dross ].

Naive have had just about the best CD covers. Shame they don’t do vinyl, where the artwork could be stunning :–vivaldi-concerti-per-violino-viii-il-teatro–amours-toujours

  • KANANPOIKA says:

It appears that La Marca is receiving an important message from The Chief on his Get Smart Cello Phone

  • christopher storey says:

Ferrandez has a lovely sound in the Dvorak . The orchestral sound is sumptuous as well. Is it the Israel Philharmonic ?
