Emma Kail, General Manager of the Kansas City Symphony, is to be the new CEO of the Grand Teton Music Festival.

She succeeds Simon Woods, incoming President and CEO of the League of American Orchestras.

Ms. Kail will move to Jackson Hole with her husband, Jeffrey Kail, their two young sons James and Charles, and their cat, Ninja. She and her husband are active outdoorists and look forward to fulfilling their dream of living in a mountain community.

She is actually the “former” GM of the Kansas City Symphony. According to her on-line profile, she left the Symphony in May to take a fundraising job with the World War I Museum. Now after two months there she’s been appointed to the Festival though she has no CEO experience, again according to her on-line profile. Good luck to her.

Sounds like a dream job for her.

Best of luck to her and her family.

So excited to see what Emma brings to GTMF this year. I’ve been attending for the past 5 years and it’s an incredible place with some of the best musicians in the world. Lucky us!
