Ukraine mourns composer, 81
mainThe death has been announced of Miroslav Skorik, awarded the title Hero of Ukraine for many patriotic film scores and other commissions. The heart of his work consists of nine violin concertos. He was a cousin of the famous opera singer Solomiya Krushelnytska, who first fostered his talent.
In the 1990s he migrated with his family to Australia, only to return home for his last years.
RIP
