    Powerhouse lineup.

Is the Israel Phil worse off than any other orchestras? I have no idea what kind of support they get — not clear what the Netanyahoos feel about culture.

  • Stereo says:

She should be supporting British orchestras

    • Lina says:

My exact thoughts. I am wondering how this even came about, seriously.

      • Esfir Ross says:

Helen Mirren-Mironova’s Russian. Normally’ll be to support Russian orchestras.

        • M2N2K says:

Apparently Dame Helen Mirren, who by the way is only half Russian, fortunately has a more open mind than you do and is less chauvinistically nationalistic than you are, which evidently is not a high bar to clear.

  • Edgar Self says:

Three cheers for (Dame?) Helen Mirren, on or off the tage!

  • Greg Bottini says:

    Yep, she’s a Dame – and what a Dame!
