Breaking: York Minster to lose its school

The prep school attached to York Minster – a fertile training ground for its choristers – is being wound up as the church can no longer afford to support it. Tourism has collapsed during Covid and the Minster has been left with a £5 million black hole.

Sad day for the music.

    I don’t know how the Church of England or places like York Minster operate, but this seems to me like a serious loss

    The amount of money involved must be tiny, by government standards.
