  • Ines says:

Did she meant”whoever decided those rules ,has to vanish?”….well, I guess she s not afraid to sing and listen to another singer at 20 cm distance….or it must be only Youssuf..

    • Ron Swanson says:

The Russians are have long history of making people vanish.

      • Cora says:

Learn Russian history before posting such a bull shit. Now you have zero knowledge about Russia.

      • Tamino says:

This is such an inacceptable comment. Some poor humans are so full of hate and need to project it. The declining Anglo-American Empire is on its way to totalitarism, their people increasingly brainwashed, the Russians are their new “Untermenschen”. Many would like to nuke the Untermenschen in a big holocaust.

        • Brettermeier says:

“Some poor humans are so full of hate and need to project it. The declining Anglo-American Empire is on its way to totalitarism, their people increasingly brainwashed, the Russians are their new “Untermenschen”. Many would like to nuke the Untermenschen in a big holocaust.”

Do you make this up as you go or do you get scripts?

          • M2N2K says:

Either way, such nonsense does not deserve to be quoted.

          • Brettermeier says:

“Either way, such nonsense does not deserve to be quoted.”

To avoid confusion or even worse, seemingly approve a comment that isn’t even there yet when I click “Submit comment” (as I don’t know if this post will directly appear under the post I want to comment because other comments might already be waiting to be published), I always use quotes. No confusion.

          • M2N2K says:

Not true: your comment below about ABCT has no quotes and is perfectly clear about what it refers to. Anyway, there are better and more succinct ways of avoiding “confusion” than quoting verbal garbage.

          • Brettermeier says:

@M2N2K: (<- see? Could still confuse if it's ending up "somewhere".)

Okay, you got me. I TRY to always use quotes if it would be confusing otherwise. So, as you stated yourself: "your comment […] has no quotes and is perfectly clear about what it refers to" 😉

And that's because in this case it didn't matter where it would appear. Would I just have said "Booooo!" and it would somehow appear under your comment, you might be miffed. I don't want to miff people at random. I pick them very meticulously. Most of the time for being stupid.

          • M2N2K says:

As you have demonstrated right here, it is very easy not to “miff people at random” by simply naming those to whom you are responding at the beginning of the comment. As for picking “stupid” to register your disagreement, it reminds me of a common saying: “if you are arguing with an idiot, he is probably doing the same”. In interests of equality, it should really say “he or she”.

          • Brettermeier says:

“As you have demonstrated right here, it is very easy not to “miff people at random” by simply naming those to whom you are responding at the beginning of the comment.”

You really don’t understand the difference, do you?

            Comment 1: Boooooooo!
            Comment 2: Wheeeeeee!

Yeah, you don’t know which comment I was referring to. *rolleyes*

You’ll understand the difference eventually. I believe in you!

          • M2N2K says:

Even without naming the commenter, you know which comment I am referring to when I say that it was nonsensical. And if you don’t it is your problem and not mine.

          • M2N2K says:

My last comment here just before this one was written in haste; it may actually be somewhat inappropriate and possibly rather unwise. The long and difficult month of May is now over and so is my participation in this exchange. See you on other threads. Stay safe and healthy!

  • Mike says:

    What is ‘bracke’?

  • mary says:

First of all, why are you (or anyone) following her on instagram?

You have no one to blame but yourself.

  • Brian says:

It sounds as if she’s advising her fans to ignore social distancing and get sick at her concerts. If they do, will she visit them in the hospital?

Well, maybe she can’t get work in one of the southern states of the U.S.

  • Brian says:

“can” get work, that should read (with the rush to prematurely reopen businesses in those states).

  • spinto says:

Do I really want to see her trimming her bush in shorts with her leg up? no!
Do I care about her poorly informed opinions in face of a pandemic that continues apace worldwide? no!
Do I want to hear her sing any time soon? not really…
Maybe she could (should?) take her own advice and “vanish”, except that her ego and twatter profile won’t allow it because she needs everyone to listen to HER….
Failing that, go get a job as Putin’s stooge bringing comfort to good old Mother Russia – and stay there!

  • Dexter says:

“whoever decided that (she has no knowledge of a basic English grammar) rules, has to vanish.” Is this a threat to the organizers/authorities? German authorities should investigate her.

    • Brettermeier says:

““whoever decided that (she has no knowledge of a basic English grammar) rules, has to vanish.” Is this a threat to the organizers/authorities? German authorities should investigate her.”

Isn’t that great, you two have something in common: She doesn’t have knowledge of basic English grammar, you don’t have basic knowledge of geography.

  • Opera fan says:

Netrebko’s got a great set of lungs. She is neither a rocket scientist nor a virologist. And her comment that “who ever decided that rules [sic] has to vanish” is beneath contempt, but hardly surprising from one of Putin’s PR tools.

  • Long Time Fan says:

Dearest Anna, we love you dearly! But please think before posting – relaxing rules means more lives lost. Instead of cutting out ducks, you could divert some of your wonderful energy maybe to helping the less fortunate, maybe those who are ill? Love from a fan!

  • Don Ciccio says:

    “Anna Netrebko has a view…”

You know, this reminds me of what Clint Eastwood said about opinions in on e of the Dirty Harry films.

  • Elizabeth Lloyd-Davies says:

Thank you Anna for some amusing news at last……you are the greatest !
I love your rooftop terrace by the Stefansdom…..and your masterpiece donald duck !
I used to live just around the corner from where you are…..Vienna is a great city to live in
especially if you are a musicians .

    • Tiredofitall says:

Did you read the post or just look at the pictures?? Over 331,000 dead and counting. But, boy, that duck is sure cute..

    • Brian L says:

The greatest? No wonder opera is slowly dying… I keep wondering if this is because people are getting slowly deaf (so they just need a big volume and no phrasing, no colors, no emotions, no pianissimos, no anything else!) OR is it just because people get more superficial these days?
      Maybe it’s both…

  • Ask not for whom the bell tolls... says:

    заткнись анна!!!!

    • Bella says:

Последуйте сами вашему совету. А перед тем как давать советы Анне, сначала достигните ее уровня. А пока вы – пустое место.

      • M2N2K says:

        • Brettermeier says:

          Let’s see who wrote here:

Abby, Bella, Cora, and… Tanya. Not Danya?

Same gmail thingy: Seems legit. 😀

  • Phillipe says:

    What a clever girl!
Nothing to regret. She has a gorgeous voice. Her head is useful to produce it.

  • Dennis says:

She exactly right. Lovely terrace view as well.

  • Darrell says:

She is brave, a rarity in these times.

  • LydiaWahlberg says:

Well, I don’t believe she has ever been known for her intelligence.

  • Dave says:

Netrebko needs to push away the dinner plate. Everytime I see her photo I am drawn to her double chin. She has plenty of money. Go and see a dietician. I know this will make people start howling but she is being paid for her looks as well as her voice.

    • M2N2K says:

She probably is, but it is her own body, so she has a right to do with it whatever she wants, and you have a right to pay her less or not at all if you disapprove.

  • curious says:

at least that’s a duck between her legs…

  • nomen nescio says:

Oh, those “stupid” rules, but oh, joy: In Russia, anyone can vanish, one need not rely just on Kremlin, corona will help, too.

  • John Borstlap says:

Mrs Netrebko is probably acting out of an overreaction, fearful of catching the cough herself. Imagining a full auditorium, that should be reassuring the cough has stayed outside.
