This is Felicia Temple of New Jersey who broke off a European tour to get back into her nursing uniform.

Felicia has lost two beloved aunts and an uncle to Covid-19.

She made a video for her colleagues that is played at every shift change and has told her story to local TV.

Watch video here.

Words fail me when I read of stories like hers, bless her.

totally agree, but I am just waiting for some curmudgeonly old “anon” sod to comment that no one cares and that she is just attention seeking to further her own profile…. if they do, then f%^& them

I’m in my 70s and this story reduced me to tears, and I AM an old sod, but I hope one with real feelings. I used to perform but now I am content to listen (and admire!)

I read of people like this, and that young singer who has gone to be a hospital porter, and the Finnish musicians biking meals to the elderly, and I despair that the UK can’t entice enough young laid-off or unemployed types off their couches to go out and pick vegetables and fruits and help on farms so we can all be fed. We have to depend upon the Eastern Europeans we so recently made unsure of their welcome in the UK.

My admiration for those who have stepped up is unqualified.

    • Saxon Broken says:

Lots of young people in Britain have volunteered to pick fruit and vegetables. And don’t forget 750,000 volunteered to help the NHS recently deliver to vulnerable households. And every country has its share of “unemployed types on their couches”.

I am a music loving nurse. Music is so therapeutic. May Ms. Temple always find a way (perhaps through activities therapy) to combine music with patient care
