I’ve played under Olivier several times – enthusiastic musician, engaging and charming personality.
Interestingly, before Gülke, the GMD in Brandenburg for 15 years was Michael Helmrath: another ex- Munich wind principal (oboe with Celibidache’s Munich Philharmonic)
I didn’t know that he’s resigned/former principal flute? Where you get this information?
He’s still listed in orchetra’s website + there isn’t audition for principal flute
