The Semper Oper has terminated its contract with Hans-Joachim Frey, a German manager with elite Russian connections whose latest edition of the annual ball involved a Caucasian proxy war and a wholly unwarranted award to an Arab military dictator.

Frey’s contract was cut short by two years.

Dresden intendant Peter Theiler said he is looking at a new cost structure.

Frey is pictured here with Putin.

UPDATE: Clarification from Dresden Oper Ball:

The contract between the Semper opera Dresden and the Semper Opera Ball (as registered organization and organizer of the ball) is effective until 2022. From then onwards, the contract has to be renegotiated.
