Covent Garden bans visitors backstage

We hear that, as of this morning, the Royal Opera House is not allowing anyone into the area of the green rooms, no matter how much an artist may request.

The ROH is one of the last opera houses still open. It would like to stay that way until Tuesday, when Fidelio has its last show.

    “Given the developing situation with the COVID-19 virus, customers are reminded to carry tissues with them and to wash their hands regularly as per government guidelines. During your visit, please do ask our staff if you need directions to the nearest bins or to toilets to wash your hands.”

    Overall Britain have been more measured in its responses than elsewhere. It is inevitable that it will follow the rest of the world in closing down everything. Looking at the decisions of the European Union countries, I can now understand why the UK wanted to break away.

      t broke away from the EU. The decisions countries have made have been unilateral. As must every country’s decisions be.
