Coronsvirus: Gulf state ends opera season
mainOfficial statement from Oman:
The Royal Opera House Muscat has canceled all events and concerts for the remainder of the months of March and April of the current season due to procedures related to the coronavirus and notes the suspension of all tours in the “Opera” and “Musical Arts” homes until further notice.
there’s opera in Oman? Didn’t know Bedouins go for that sort of thing.
That sounds racist, let alone inaccurate. I find no evidence of significant Bedu settlement in Oman.
But the winds of change are sweeping desert areas across Oman, affecting about 6 per cent of the country’s 2.45 million citizens.
Deep in the Wahiba Sands in the eastern region, villagers in the once peaceful oasis of Hamrah can only watch unhappily as the government builds housing for low-income citizens nearby.

The next step governments should do is to take control over the supply of essential goods in countries where hysteria have led to severe shortages. Who would have thought that people in a country like Australia would emulate third world countries and allow chaos and rule of the jungle to dominate. This self made crisis in product shortages & resulting rise in prices should serve as a lesson that only orderly societies thrive.
