Interesting to see how many different kinds of protest this will arouse. Form an orderly line to register your protest application.

Past prize-winners include Sonya Yoncheva, Nina Stemme, Rolando Villazon, Joyce DiDonato and Pretty Yende.

    • Calvin says:

American, a Russian, and an Israeli. A reporter approaches and says, “Excuse me, can I get your opinion about the meat shortage?”

“What’s a shortage?” says the American.

      “What’s meat?” says the Russian.

“What’s excuse me?” says the Israeli.

      Domingo will fit right in.

  • Mari says:

  • Carlos Solare says:

What’s there to protest about? It should be a kosher affair.

  • Barbara says:

So fantastic that Plácido Domingo is going back to the wonderful country of his early years and supporting young musicians! I appreciate it a lot!

  • Andres Neidig says:

  • Hilly Gross says:

Great News! I first saw Placido at the Tel Aviv opera in 1960 as Don Ottavio .I wonder if he will re4member me

  • Sharon says:

Domingo did get his start in Israel in the 1960s (I believe that he lived there about 10 years) and two of his children were born there. This is a wonderful thing to do as a gift of gratitude. Now that he is in retirement he does not have to worry about people boycotting him because of this decision.

    • Sandeling says:

Domingo and his wife Marta lived and worked two years in Israel, their two sons are born in the USA and Maestro Domingo is not retired. Visit his website and you will see that he is still performing.
