The pianist is listed as co-designer of a new Steinway model with the American furniture designer Dakota Jackson.

He also gets to engrave his signature on the Steinway Black Diamond Limited Edition piano.

Put it on your Christmas list.

  • Lanberace says:

Throw in a free diamond encrusted candelabrum to round off the tackiness of Lang Lang’s pianism.

  • Mustafa Kandan says:

If China is the future of classical music, then things look bleak indeed. I do not look forward to the Chinese century, the land of acrobats & the saccharine sensibility.

  • anon says:

I’m surprised it’s not just entirely a mirror surface, to better look at himself from every angle.

  • Petros Linardos says:

I’d rather buy a Barenboim and enjoy the sound difference.

  • The marketing and Lang Lang a long love story… boring for me. Today there are in Asia pianists more intersting like Seong and Yeol Eum Son.

  • Ganja Mozart says:

    Looks tacky.

Why not add some garish fluorescent highlights while they are at it.

  • Simon says:

The official piano of Shen Yun.

  • Drew says:

    I’d rather have a Fazioli

  • CYM says:

Lang Lang ago, there was Liberace …

  • Greg Bottini says:

I think it’s a lovely piano. It’s not overdone like some of the past Steinway special edition or art pianos.

A piano as gauche and tacky as its designer…

  • christopher storey says:

I am sad for Lang Lang, for I believe that underneath the glitz there is a proper talent waiting to escape. Nonetheless, he really only has himself to blame for the disdain that he now attracts almost universally

  • Fan says:

People who hate on Lang Lang
    1.Never heard him,
    Or
    2.Have no ears/taste.

He, along with Fazil Say, are the most interesting, artistic, and fascinating pianists in the world. Everybody else is boring/amateurish in comparison.
Lang Lang is absolutely the best pianist in the world. He’s also the most popular, so all you haters can shut up and take your jealousy elsewhere.

I do agree that this piano looks terrible though.
