Hours before curtain-up, the Opéra national de Paris posted this:

The performance of Il Barbiere di Siviglia scheduled for today, Saturday January 11, has been cancelled.

It was a new production with Lisette Oropesa and Florian Sempey.

The second performance, on Tuesday, has not been cancelled yet.

But there seems to be little progress in resolving the national strike over pensions.

Always using this old picture of Lisette….this is really childish

  • Mark Artwood says:

Damiano Micheletto’s production of Barber has been around for almost a decade. And that picture of Ms. Oropesa that you continually use of her is older.

Google has been around since 1998, so it’s time to start using it.

    This could get hairy…

  • FP says:

You do artists a Gross disservice by not using an accurate photo. Shame on you.

  • PJL says:

14th cancelled also; I was in Paris last week and saw Sir Mark strolling through the Marais on his way to the Bastille; must be especially frustrating for him AFTER HAVING TO CANCEL SO MANY CONCERTS THROUGH THE SHOULDER PROBLEM.
