He was a real gentleman and a pleasure to work with. I still have very fond memories of playing the Prokofiev Second Concerto under his baton in Nuremberg some 20 years ago.

There are some excellent concerto recordings that he made in the 1970s. An underrated conductor!
Rest in peace. I played with him a few times (once as soloist on Sæverud’s Romanza) back in the late 80s/early 90s. A nice fellow and fine conductor.
