A Congolese joins Covent Garden’s training roster
mainThe ROH has announced four entrants to its Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, including one from central Africa.
The new trainees are:
British soprano Alexandra Lowe
Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Kseniia Nikolaieva
Russian tenor Egor Zhuravskii
Congolese bass Blaise Malaba
A black African should not deserve special mention in such program….. that should be real progress.
Why make an issue of his race? Isn’t he just another good singer?
Hopefully an appointment made on the basis of skill and merit, rather than just ticking the diversity box
