The continuing pension rights strikes have forced the company to extend its shutdown to January 11, at the earliest.

Artists who have been engaged for cancelled productions will still be paid.

  • Julien says:

Oh please… There are no performances scheduled between Jan. 1st and Jan 10th. The shutdown is therefore not extended.
The revival of Il Barbiere di Siviglia premieres, in theory, on Jan 11th. Nobody knows if it will take place.

  • Mustafa Kandan says:

A strike to hold on to ridiculously generous & in the long term unaffordable pension system. It is fortunate that Britain did not go along this path.

  • JB says:

It’s true also of the Ballet, with even the gala on 31 Dec cancelled.

  • Those troubles arrived at a moment very special with Jordan who will say good bye after a fantastic success.
