Bavarian Radio has scheduled a performance of Mahler’s second symphony in Munich for January 15, conducted by Zubin Mehta, with whom Jansons had a long friendship.

The soloists are Golda Schultz and Gerhild Romberger.

The day before would have been Mariss’s 77th birthday.

Thank you Norman, for the latest info. Maestro Mehta is a warm-hearted conductor just like Mariss Jansons. Right after we had a terrible earthquake in 2011, Mehta came to Japan and did a concert to pay tribute. We were so touched. I hope that BR Kassik will let us see the Livestream from Japan in January.
