We hear that Gaetan Naulleau has left Diapason after the French music magazine was sold by Mondadori to Reworld Media.

Others have also quit and there is speculation that the niche magazine may not fit Reworld’s commercial portfolio.

The new owners reportedly assumed that it was a hi-fi equipment magazine.

Naulleau is said to have undertaken an academic thesis.

  • The View from America says:

One wonders why the acquiring firm didn’t check out a few back issues of the magazine to understand what they were actually purchasing.

Then again … of course they did.

So this is likely an example of over-hyped reportage. How come we are not surprised?

An excellent magazine. Typical of current dumbing down that the people who bought it didn’t know what it was about.
