2 music directors, 1 concert

This is conductor/pianist Daniel Barenboim (Staatskapelle Berlin) rehearsing Rach 3 today with conductor/pianist Lahav Shani (Rotterdam Phil, Israel Phil).

Looks like they’re getting on.

They did the reverse for Shani’s inaugural concert in Rotterdam, with Barenboim doing Beethoven’s 3rd piano concerto and Shani conducting.

Next Thursday in Los Angeles: a concert with ALL THREE living music directors of the LA Phil conducting – first separately and then all of them together on stage leading a world premiere of a piece specifically written for the occasion: see https://www.laphil.com/events/performances/644/2019-10-24/centennial-birthday-celebration-concert-gala . Fairly safe to say, unprecedented.

  • Francois says:

Lahav Shani can play piano but just so so
