Tragedy: Italian mezzo is killed in Austrian car crash
mainThe mezzo-soprano Giuliana Castellani has died in a head-on collision on an Austrian motorway.
Giuliana was 40.
Her dog, who was in the car, also died.
A cancer patient in her teens, Giuliana went on to a lively concert career, singing with Jose Carreras among others.
She is survived by her parents.

I must correct you: Miss Castellani was a Swiss citizen, from Locarno on Lake Maggiore (Italian part of the country).
It can be that she also had the double nationality, but her origin is surely here, and besides here she made a great part of her career.
