  • Prime Minister until winter? says:

Funny…Trudeau should try to get the conductor for life’s endorsement so he can stay prime minister for a wee bit longer. It’s funny how strongmen and dictators are so accepted by classical music industry while they all claim to love democracy.

    • Karl says:

Comparing Trudeau to a strongman or a dictator? Seriously? You Russian trolls crack me up sometimes.

    • V.Lind says:

There speaks someone who knows nothing about Canadian politics.

      Or music.

    • Sue Sonata Form says:

I expect that cohort is just incredibly shallow and naive.

Remember how the educated middle class and bien pensant followed the Little Colonel into power. Dr. Goebbels – with excellent academic credentials!!

      • steven holloway says:

I’ve seen the Little Colonel: Shirley Temple and Lionel Barrymore, 1935. Not relevant to Trudeau or Yannick, but then nor is anything in your comment, which surprises not.

        • Steven Holloway says:

It looks as if I really should added a sentence or two. Goebbels was not known as the Little Colonel. Hitler, rather, was called the Little Corporal. It must be doubted if Goebbels, far from well known in 1933, was the person anyone followed into power. Most people think it was Hitler who was being followed. Goebbels did indeed have a doctorate in Literature, but that would hardly be a factor in anything given the ubiquity of doctorates in Germany. It is a necessary or helpful degree in many fields, hence ubiquitous, and hence of little significance at all among the general population.
