The British insurance firm Lark Music has acquired a Dublin-based business in order to stay in line with EU law after October 31.

Here’s what they are telling musician clients:

As you will be aware, Lark Music currently arranges your musical instrument policy.

You will of course have seen that there is still uncertainty over the outcome of Brexit negotiations between the UK and the EU, and so we are writing to update you on our plans to ensure continuity of service and cover for you and your instrument.

We recognize that a decision on “Deal or No Deal” or any “Transition Period” may not become clear until very close to the 31st October deadline. This uncertainty is not helpful to us as a business, or to our valued clients. We have therefore taken the decision to commit to putting in place the required structure now, that will allow us to continue to service our EU clients going forward, irrespective of any political outcomes around Brexit.

As you may know, Lark Music is part of the Aston Lark Group, one of the leading independent broking groups in the UK. In March this year, Aston Lark acquired a business called Robertson Low Insurances Limited, based in Ireland. This means we now have an EU trading and regulated entity within our group.

It is not even clear at the moment whether there will be a Brexit. Even though I believe Brexit is bad for Britain, but may be beneficial for countries like Australia, I cannot wait to get a resolution to this crisis. Thank heavens in Australia we have much better politicians running the country than in Britain at the moment.

In Australia? Everywhere in the world except the US they have better politicians than Britain at the moment. As for “running the country,” who is doing that? Having been glued to the BBC online service for 3 days watching debates and votes and speeches, I have yet to see any evidence of anybody running anything.

  • Elizabeth Owen says:

Oh yes like your politicians inability to deal with refugees. Subjecting them to stay in horrible camps on islands which are other countries ugh they should be ashamed of themselves. All politicians are awful.

  • M McAlpine says:

Don’t worry. Our politicians have made sure Brexit won’t happen. Too many vested interests.

  • Karl says:

I think it’s 10 to 1 against Brexit ever happening.
