I love both singers – good wishes for both if for different reasons – swift recovery and a brilliant debut
Dinara Alieva is a great soprano. Heard her as Leonora in Trovatore in Israeli opera, she made huge impression
It may be a Vienna debut in that role, but not a house debut. She has appeared as Donna Elvira, Tatiana, Mimi, and Liu there in the past.
Yes, indeed, I heard her sing Tatiana there. Gorgeous voice.
It is remarkable how many fine singers, especially sopranos, emerge from the ex-Soviet. An appalling political system but musically productive.
Compared to previous decades, isn’t there currently a disproportionate number of prominent eastern European singers ? What has changed in the west?
Dinara Alieva is a permanent soloist of the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre since 2009 and she performed as guest soloist in several opera houses.
