In every non-interview that he gives, Lang Lang lets slip something of his motivation.

This is from a post-wedding, pre-Australia tour chat with the Melbourne Age:

‘Art makes everything in the world feel different. It makes you a more interesting and creative person. It makes you more interested in the world and in other people. It makes you more powerful.’

Put that on the back of his next album.

  • Fan says:

This is nothing more than platitude. I doubt there’s anything sinister, as suggested here: he just rephrased the aphorism “knowledge is power” ( “scientia potestas est”) attributed to Francis Bacon and very popular over there.

  • V. Lind says:

    Don’t we all believe this?

  • M McAlpine says:

Well it does doesn’t it? Don’t more people hear Lang lang because of his art?

  • V says:

Probably mispronunciation? Lang Lang said “car” instead of “art” ?

  • Pianofortissimo says:

Lang Lang is wrong. It is MONEY that makes you more powerful.

  • Anonym says:

I really like Lang-Lang. I think he’s aging REALLY well

  • Ray says:

I really don’t know why people watch Lang Lang. He’s not a pianist. He’s a maniacal marionette.
