Some truly embarrassing video of the humble couple.

You don’t have to watch it if you don’t want to. Excess has its own integrity.

  • The View from America says:

Probably wouldn’t be most people’s cup of tea or flute of champagne, but if that’s the way the happy couple wanted to celebrate their wedding, then play on. Video clips from most SD readers’ weddings would likely be just as cringeworthy — if for different reasons …

  • George says:

He’s one of the most famous artists in the world, and been working since the age of three with hardly some time off or a childhood like most of us used to have.
I find this video neither embarassing nor full of excess and wish them well.

  • MusicBear88 says:

We could be making a social commentary on the whole culture of “bigger is better” at weddings, but honestly, it feels like if that was ever the case, it’s devolved into a shaming ritual now. So two people who apparently can afford it, had an expensive wedding and did some things at it which are in questionable artistic taste. I’ve never liked Lang Lang, but I wouldn’t condemn him over something like this.

  • boringfileclerk says:

Wait, Elton John didn’t play there?

  • It is actually a very sweet moment. I wish them only the best and happy, healthy years together.

  • M2N2K says:

Can’t see anything “embarrassing” here. The wedding was certainly over the top a bit, so what? Most weddings are. Many people spend larger percentage of their budgets on their weddings than what may be considered “prudent”, but that does not mean that we should judge and condemn them for it. Wishing this couple all the best!

  • Sue Sonata Form says:

It will take quite a bit to keep “Team Lang Lang” running smoothly and it seems that is now the job of the bride. I’m interested to know how this will go, given that Mother has had the job for the last decades! I suspect there won’t be too much room for both of them. (And before the Thought Police come out, I’ve had 5 children – all but 1 married – and know all about family dynamics!)

  • V. Lind says:

I can’t believe the nastiness behind this posting. So some young, well-to-do people had some fun at their wedding? What on earth has this young man done to you to cause so much bile to pour out over his every activity? This continuing vendetta is disappointing, to say the very least.

  • fflambeau says:

This website has become known as one for bashing gays, Lang Lang, the Chinese in classical music etc. Is that what is wanted or needed?

  • Tamino says:

What is the problem people? Honestly?
    Get a life!

  • christopher storey says:

I admire the steady hand of the chap pouring champagne whilst standing on a stepladder !

  • William Ford says:

To me, the only embarrassment was that I wasn’t invited. Looks like a really enjoyable, posh event. Congrats to the newly weds.

  • Hans Kellner says:

It is regrettable that your postings are so often spoiled by their distasteful and ugly tone. Physician, heal thyself.

  • sycorax says:

Oh, Norman, don’t you think it’s enough with cringing about this wedding? I mean I found the Netrebko/Eyvazov wedding rather overdone, too …
