  • We privatize your value says:

    Larry. Not Lenny.

  • Caravaggio says:

Funny. Always had the impression that Copland was short of stature. But he is the taller of the four. Who knew.

  • Caravaggio says:

    Tallest, I meant

  • Mark Cogley says:

This was the first telecast from Carnegie Hall and the first telecast with Bernstein conducting, in this case the Boston Symphony Orchestra. You can hear the audio by googling United Nations Human Rights Day Concert 1949 – quite exciting.

  • Steven van Staden says:

Olivier of course. And they were still allowed to smoke!

  • Jan Kazkowski says:

How many pics of Lenny do you see without a cigarette ?
His lungs must have been a shamble in his last few years

  • Ed says:

    Menuhin for sure.

  • Mather Pfeiffenberger says:

The concert included the world premiere of Copland’s Preamble for a Solemn Occasion, with Olivier as narrator reading the Preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Bernstein conducting the Boston Symphony. It was composed to commemorate the first anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

  • Esther Cavett says:
