  • Jeremy Atkin says:

In Birmingham last week, Denis Kozhukhin replaced her in the lesser known 5th cto of Prokofiev

  • Ben says:

    Keep the disappointment coming please!

  • Steve says:

No, she hasn’t let Mirga down. She’s sick.

  • MacroV says:

Even if it’s Yuja, I generally prefer hearing a touring orchestra without a soloist; paid the money because I want to hear what the orchestra has to offer. Of course I realize that presenters generally want a soloist to help sell tickets.

  • Petros Linardos says:

Why ‘lets down’? Is there any evidence of unprofessional behavior?

  • John Rook says:

I’ve never seen so little of Yuja Wang in a photo before.

  • Meal says:

At the moment she is not out of the tour completely. According to her website she is still expected to perform from May 19 (Cologne) on with the CBO. I wish her a speedy recovery!

  • Dr. Accular says:

My guesses: hand/arm injury, insufficient recovery time from a viral infection, or straight burnout. You can only push a human body so far.

  • Fan says:

    Brilliant diagnosis, doc!

  • Alexander Tarak says:

    The epitome of vacuous virtuosity.
