Netflix’s horror movie The Perfection is drawing some extreme reactions – from rowdy online protests to viewers complaining they actually threw up.

Set in a cello competition in China, it’s about what happens when Americans fall sick abroad.

Nothing to do with airlines, for once.

Netflix continues its pursuit of degradation in broadcasting. Oh, the good old days of government regulation.

No it’s not. If you want to marvel at the American movie industry’s creative depths, click on the link below and read the plot summary (WARNING: May irretrievably expend up to 5 minutes of ones time!)….

  • Lausitzer says:

From a German point of view a quite interesting movie, because it inavoidably reminds of certain affairs. I’m curious about the reception in the classical music scene here, if there will be any at all (no true Bildungsbürger would ever admit even to know that such stuff exists).

Advice: Already the trailer contains disturbing images.

The movie is all about BUT what happens when an American falls sick in China…a really poor movie and definitely is not an Horror

  • David A. Boxwell says:

It’s “about cellists” like “Psycho” is about plumbing.

This schlock horror movie has no clue about the world of classical music performance.

  • Musician says:

This movie should keep William Preucil up at night. Timely!

  • Robert von Bahr says:

    I have three comments:
    1) Why, Norman, do you debase yourself by even mentioning this piece of junk?
    2) Having suffered through it, why is it that a movie picturing a musician playing never can get the synchronization right or, why is it that they cannot use real musicians – as actors they can hardly underpass the ones used?
    3) Why would any – and I mean ANY – thinking person invest money into this garbage? It is not about an American falling ill in China, it is not even a horror movie, it is 90 minutes of my life hopelessly wasted.

  • Jan Kaznowski says:

A dreadful film. You know, just because it stars a cellist and is initially set in a music school doesn’t mean it automatically has to be name-checked by SD !

Please don’t anybody waste time on this nonsense.

  • James MacMillan says:

It confirmed my decision to finish my connection with Netlflicks. Vile and degrading.
