Probably another regie trash exercise but to warrant censorship by Facebook? It’s insult upon injury in light of Facebook and other social media platforms showing up late to the party last week by failing to promptly censor the livestream of the New Zealand massacre.

Actually, one of the most classy productions I’ve seen in a long time. Nothing trashy about it!
Far from me the idea of defending Facebook for anything, but bringing in New Zealand here is unfair and uncalled for. Facebook can’t police everything in real time; it’s simply impossible. They took that video down 17 minutes after it started, which I thought was exceptionally well done. More importantly, they famously did so as soon as someone at last drew their attention to it — and astonishingly for all this time hundreds of people viewed it without reporting it. So, sure, Facebook bad etc., but use a better example than this to illustrate your argument.

Facebook blocked one of my client’s promotional videos – for a Valentine’s Day classical compilation – on grounds of too much snogging, all of it culled from romantic scenes in silent films. Normally, I would not say that prudish AI is a threat to culture in general, but Mark Zuckerberg’s involvement justifies reconsideration.
Astonishing that people are still using Facebook? Some people are just fated to remain Zuckers all their lives.
